At HEART, our mission is to support initiatives that make a lasting impact on our community. This is why we have given £1,500 funding to the Save the Tower campaign, a vital project that aims to preserve an iconic piece of Helensburgh’s cultural heritage.
Why Save the Tower?
The Tower Cinema has long been an important part of our community. The Save the Tower initiative plans to bring back the big screen experience to Helensburgh but also to expand its role as a hub for live performances, festivals, and community enrichment programs.
The project’s vision aligns closely with HEART’s values—keeping entertainment local, fostering inclusivity through partnerships and contributing to Helensburgh’s cultural and economic vitality.
HEART’s Support
HEART’s funding committee unanimously agreed to provide full funding of £1,500 toward the campaign. We recognised the project’s significance to Helensburgh’s cultural landscape and our commitment to championing initiatives with strong community backing.
Karen McGourlay, a key member of the Save the Tower Committee, said:
“We are so thankful to HEART for their support. Their funding is a crucial step in helping us secure the Tower Cinema for the community. With this backing, we’re even more determined to achieve our goals.”
A Bright Future Ahead
The Save the Tower initiative is a great example of what community spirit can achieve. From sold-out fundraising events to a GoFundMe campaign, this project shows the passion and dedication of Helensburgh’s residents.
HEART’s funding is just one piece of the puzzle. The Save the Tower team continues to seek support through various grants and local fundraising efforts. Together, we can ensure this historic venue reopens as a vibrant space for all to enjoy. To give please visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-the-helensburgh-tower-cinema
