Helensburgh Events and Reinvestment Trust (HEART) is delighted to announce the organisations that will benefit from its latest round of community funding.
As a nonprofit organisation, HEART organises events throughout the year, with all profits going toward local causes and charities. HEART is supporting projects that benefit the town and bring positive change to the Helensburgh community.
Following the application window, which closed on October 15, HEART’s committee reviewed and selected initiatives that align closely with their mission of supporting social engagement, cultural enrichment, and community well-being. This round of funding awards recognises a variety of projects that reflect the diverse needs and interests of Helensburgh’s residents.
The funded projects include:
Our Hometown – Full funding of £1,000 awarded for a project aimed at addressing social isolation among vulnerable community members.
Fun First Tablets – Full funding of £1,200 granted to enhance family engagement through new technology.
Helensburgh Lunch Club Christmas Lunch – Full funding of £760 awarded to support a special holiday event for the elderly.
Rugby Club Regeneration – Conditional funding of £2,250 (75% of the request) to assist in club modernisation efforts, contingent upon project able to raise the remainder of the money.
Save the Tower – Full funding of £1,500 granted to for the community-driven campaign to preserve the local landmark.
Helensburgh Book Festival – Partial funding of £500 awarded to support the cultural event.
JLBTV100 – Full funding of £400 awarded for initial development of a centenary celebration event.
Helensburgh Christmas Lights – Full funding of £1,500 to bring festive cheer and boost local business activity.
Keeping Active – Full funding of £1,000 awarded promote health and social connection for older adults.
Supporting others - 50% Funding of £500 to help them provide essential items to vulnerable members of the community
“We are proud to support these initiatives that make a meaningful impact on our community,” said Mickael Paris, HEART’s Chairperson. “HEART’s mission is to reinvest in Helensburgh through events and direct funding, ensuring our local projects and organisations can continue their incredible work. We are excited to see the positive outcomes these initiatives will bring to our town.”
HEART encourages the community to continue supporting local projects by joining them for their next event, the Santa Dash. This fun-filled event will take place on November 30 and all proceeds will go toward supporting community causes. Applications for the next round of HEART funding will be announced in early 2025. HEART extends its congratulations to all recipients and its appreciation to every applicant for their dedication to improving the Helensburgh community.
